The Senior Road Tower Group is a partnership formed in the early part of 1980 to build and manage the first large scale, multi-station FM broadcast transmission facility in the world. Utilizing combining techniques from Dielectric Communications and a special twelve bay Cavity Back Radiator antenna from Harris Corporation, the site still rates as one of the worlds most advanced facilities even after almost twenty years of service.
The Senior Road Tower is one of the world's largest communications facilities acting as home to nine FM radio station's transmitters, three television transmitters, and fifteen two-way and paging companies.
Located in the "antenna farm" near Missouri City, Texas, the tower stands 2049 feet above sea level. Ground elevation at the site is only 78 feet making the tower's actual height above ground 1971 feet.
For the benefit of two-way and paging customers the tower is designed with platforms located at 800, 1200, and 1400 feet above ground. Customer equipment is mounted on the platform near the attendant antenna, avoiding long and expensive transmission line runs from the ground. Power and telephone lines are conveniently available on each platform and can be easily interfaced to customer equipment racks. Waterproof cabinets are, of course, required to house customer equipment.
The Senior Road Tower is the premier communications site in Houston. If you have antenna site needs we can help. Call or e-mail today and tell us about your requirements.
